whaatnext has 500 (+2) followers!
even though most of you are here for the diy posts, thank you for keeping up with the other stuff too.
i’d like to thank everyone for being supportive and simply awesome. thank you for your recommendations, those greatly help (even though the list seems never-ending which is fun and exciting?) without you lovely people (all of you know yourselves), this website wouldn’t survive, so thank you, thank you, thank you.
if you’re new to the website:
here’s what it’s about, here are the categories i post in, i try updating my detailed archive as much as i can, this is my favorite category (this one too) and you can submit reviews to things you like or recommend anything.
i run other blogs too:
reblog, retweet, tell your friends/family or don’t, just make use of these links.
if you have any feedback, things i should do differently to make this website better, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
have a good day/night, depending on your side of the planet.
i have taken interest in pixel/bit art lately, so today’s posts are all related to pixels.
submit your favorite books and graphic novels as guest reviews. short reviews, nothing fancy (or making it fancy, it’s up to you)
‘jaffat el aqlam’ is a new project i’m working on. it initially started as a way to promote young middle eastern writers (the ones i know), but the idea evolved so fast/i procrastinated so hard that it will also contain a few art pieces (paintings, collages, illustrations etc) and honorable mentions of great arab writers.
i know i sound like i know what i’m doing, but trust me, it’s going to be really simple (so please don’t expect much), i just want the world to know about these wonderful artists and writers and this is the least i can do to get them out there.
i’m not in a hurry, i have all semester to work on this and if there ever was a deadline, i will definitely update everyone.
things i’m going to include in this ebook
all submissions need to be emailed to [ whaatnext(at)gmail(dot)com ] along with
any questions about this project (or if you have shy talented friends, please redirect them to me), you can tweet me.
i have already started choosing pieces and i will not publish anything until i get your permission, so you don’t have to worry about that.
what i need you (reader) to do is reblog, tweet, bbm, whatsapp and instagram this (i don’t usually do this but i would hate for talented people to not get in on this). suggest middle eastern-ers you know and whatnot.
ps: i can’t promise that all pieces will be published but i will try my absolute best.
whaatnext’s posts will be on hold until further notice. (3 to 4 weeks max). while i’m panicking about my finals, you can go through the categories, detailed archive and feel free to submit your recommendations or requests. check out the guest reviews and submit your own too!
have a lovely everything,
the list of categories:
what’s your favorite whaatnext category?
share your recommendations and submit them to whaatnext.
any favorite books, comics, films, albums or anything really. just head to submit, write a little review and that’s it.
creating an “everything about rss feeds and their awesomeness” post, any particular things you’d like to know? leave them in my ask and i’ll try adding them to the post.
who found out about this blog only because two posts were featured in the DIY tag. just so you know, this blog OCCASIONALLY posts DIY.
again, because a DIY post got featured.
i haven’t been posting as much as i should, i apologize. as soon as i finish my midterms and assignments, i’ll start posting (and not reblogging) again.
since i clearly/sadly can’t go over ALL recommendations and make posts about them, i’m introducing the guest reviewer tag. everyone recommends so many wonderful things and since not everything is similar to my taste, i thought it would be nice to have recommendations by different people.
email me your reviews : whaatnext(at)gmail(dot)com or just submit them.
make sure you include your tumblr url and/or twitter username, a small paragraph on why you’re recommending whatever it is that you’re recommending and i’ll gladly take care of the rest. (if images are included and whatnot)
you can recommend books, comics, shows, films, music, short stories, documentaries, websites, games (online and video games), anime, manga…alright, you get the picture.
for arabs: if you have a talent, or you know an arab who has a talent, please let me know so i can add your/their work to the real arab talent tag.
ps: this is part of the whaatnext 3.0 plan.
the ones you can’t NOT watch?
mine would be:
everything else comes second.
